Softball Leinster
As the official authority for softball in Leinster, we manage over 600 players across 27 teams in Dublin, Meath and Wicklow, playing in four divisions, with the Premier Division being the most competitive, while Division 3 is most suitable for beginners.
Mondays – Division 3
Tuesdays – Premier Division
Wednesdays – Division 1
Thursday – Division 2
There are also weekend blitzes throughout the season – April to September.
Being a not-for-profit organisation, Softball Leinster thrives on the commitment of volunteers, promoting softball at grassroots levels. Our governance structure comprises an executive committee.
We are part of Softball Ireland, along with Softball Ulster and Softball Connacht Munster. Recognised by the World Baseball Softball Confederation and the European Softball Federation, our organisation has fostered a thriving environment for the sport, relying solely on volunteers for governance and operational functions, demonstrating our commitment to community participation.
Our Teams
Softball Leinster currently has twenty-eight teams in its overall league, with over six hundred players participating in Softball. It has four divisions: Premier Division, Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3.
The teams in these divisions come from three counties in Leinster: Dublin (North and South Dublin), Wicklow (Greystones), and Meath (Ashbourne and Navan). Their home grounds are an array of parks and pitches from Saint Anne’s Park in North Dublin (Renegade Reapers/Titans and Thirsty Camels), Castleknock College (Castleknock Bearcats/Wildcats and Dublin Bay Packers) to Marlay Park in Rathfarnham, South Dublin (Usual/Deadly Suspects) to the Ashbourne International Baseball Centre for the Ashbourne Antlers and Comets.
The Dodder Dynamoes are the longest-running Softball Club in Ireland. The biggest club in Leinster is currently the Hippety Softball Club in south Dublin with teams in Division 3, Division 2, Division 1, and the Premier Division in the Softball Leinster League. The KCB club has three teams in Premier Division, Division 1 and Division 3.
The Suspects Club in south Dublin started in 1996 and has two teams. Meanwhile, Ashbourne and the Red Rox are baseball and softball clubs. The Ashbourne club began as a little league baseball club in 2009 and in 2020, the club established its first adult co-ed softball team, the Ashbourne Antlers, which plays in Softball Leinster’s Division 1. The Red Rox co-ed softball team has joined Softball Leinster’s Division 3 in the 2025 season.
We play in parks and pitches around Leinster, including the popular spot Walkinstown Park in the South of Dublin (home of the Hippetys, Average Joes, Devil Homers, Stoneballerz and BatPak), Saint Anne’s Park and Portmarnock in the Northside of Dublin, Shoreline Leisure Centre in Greystones, and Blackwater Park in Navan. Many clubs host blitzes on weekends throughout the seasons, and some players travel internationally for matches. We are proud of our players representing Ireland on the Irish National Co-Ed Softball Team!
